Alrighty… let’s get seasoned
grab a pen and it’s journalLing time
journalling and reflection corner
ok sis, But first lets talk accountability…
Colossians 3:17 says, "Whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
yet sometimes we are not careful to do deeds as if unto a King of Kings Almighty God.
In a world where the press of a “like” or a “heart” button on social media gives you the dopamine rush you need to keep going. Surely we attempt to work or do good deeds but not as if unto the King of Kings. We work yes but, sometimes lazliy and sometimes half-heartedly. Even sometimes with contempt. Why ? Because of instant gratification.
Its easy to want to settle for less just to have frequent and impermanent moments of pleasure. Next thing you know the whole day has gone by and you were watching "just one more episode" of that show you like. And soon enough you have seamlessly transitioned into a couch potato who has lost all zeal to be the best version of his/herself in life. One day you are just skipping one bible study on a Tuesday or Wednesday night . The next thing you know like Samson with Delilah (Judges 16) you are cooped up with a stranger in that very same bed you were skipping Bible study on, on a Wednesday night.
It takes one thing...success is a resultant effect of small moments of intentionality and denying yourself of instant gratification put together. If you think about this walk with Christ. That is what really its all about , delayed gratification. Toward a greater expected end. That is not to say completely just dry out and have no refreshment time and die. No the bible says God rewards those who diligently seek Him but that is to encourage you to push past your moments of crumbling in, sinking in. This is to acknowledge that yes life gets tough sometimes, things are not easy sometimes. Sometimes along the path of destiny you just want to hang up your shoes, take a bow and take a long nap. Sometimes you want to drop the mic and get the actors off stage. Throw up your peace sign and declare no shade. Push past your moments of settling when things feel uncomfortable or when the walking and workings of walking with God begin to get going.
I think this is a healthy drop off point…grab your pen and your paper and let’s begin to do some inner work…
